Before the pandemic, staying at home meant being close to family. Now, I am a foreigner living in a place that is slowly disconnecting me with home
Dual-Key Unit is a photography project that experiments on projecting images of a past home in a new, foreign space.
Capturing notions of isolation and separation in two contrasting visuals – a projection of found imagery of old photo albums into a contained scene.
The title refers to the apartment layout I rent in – a dual-key studio where a larger portion of the unit belongs to a different tenant. This similar duality is seen when projecting images of a different home into the space.
The selection below shows both the projections and the projected.
